Blog

Welcome to My New Website!

I finally got around to building a new website. It’s funny. I build websites for a living but building my own took forever. 🙂

In 2004 I started a blog on Blogger.com. I was attending West Virginia University and I had two hours in between classes. To pass time I would go to the library to do homework and use the internet. I have friends who live all over the world so blogging was a good way to post updates on life when I was unable to call or visit. I started blogging with only a few people in mind. It never occurred to me that people other than my friends would read my posts.

In May of 2006 my parents were murdered and I was wounded by a deranged neighbor. After that happened everyone was reading my blog. At first I didn’t like the idea of strangers reading my blog. As time passed I realized I needed an outlet and a way to communicate with people who were still praying and supporting me and my family through that ordeal. My posts became a way to articulate my thoughts and feelings about grief and forgiveness.

By 2009 my blogging started to dwindle. I had moved to Pittsburgh to learn web design and I was using my time in Pittsburgh as rest physically, mentally and spiritually.

In 2010 I moved back to where I grew up in Lorain County, Ohio. I got involved in urban ministry in Lorain and my blogging became non-existent. I wanted to protect the privacy of the people I was ministering to. The friends I made in Lorain are just that. My friends! Their struggles are not everyone’s business.

I got married October 19th 2013. My wife is a private person. Blogging about our personal day to day is not something she would appreciate. With that in mind I decided to quit blogging. At least in the format I was blogging before.

A lot has changed in my life. I think my blog should reflect that. My goal is to post something once a week. That should be doable in between married life, work, ministry and creative extracurriculars I’m involved in. My website has a contact page so if you would like to say hello or ask me my two cents about a topic feel free to do so. I plan on posting some videos too. That should be fun.

Welcome to my website. Feel free to stay as long as you like.
